Treatment Methods //

There are many treatment methods for varicose veins, including endovenous ablation (EVLA), radiofrequencey ablation (RFA), injection microsclerotherapy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy (UGS), ambulatory mini-phlebectomy, cutaneous laser, high ligation and stripping, compression therapy.

Many patients have different types of vein lesions in their legs and need integrated therapy.

RADIOFREQUENCY ABLATION (RFA)

The principle and procedure of radiofrequency ablation is similar to EVLA. That is, the catheter is inserted into the target vein which is then closed by the heat of radiofrequency energy. It is also a walk-in-walk-out procedure that is done under local anesthesia.

Procedure: Under local anesthesia, the target vein is punctured under sono-guide. The radiofrequency catheter is inserted into the vein through a sheath. Then the target vein is closed by the heat produced from the radiofrequency. The venous reflux is abolished and the patient can walk immediately after the procedure.
