Treatment Methods //

There are many treatment methods for varicose veins, including endovenous ablation (EVLA), cyanoacrylate venous closure (superglue), radiofrequencey ablation (RFA), injection microsclerotherapy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy (UGS), ambulatory mini-phlebectomy, cutaneous laser, high ligation and stripping, compression therapy.

Many patients have different types of vein lesions in their legs and need integrated therapy.

CUTANEOUS LASER

The laser light of a given wavelength is absorbed by the intravenous hemoglobin. The energy cause contraction and destruction of the vein. The advantage of cutaneous laser is no wound. The disadvantage is time-consuming and ineffective to varicose vein or large reticular vein. Cutaneous laser is usually used as an adjunctive role in treating spider veins or reticular veins.
