Treatment Methods //

There are many treatment methods for varicose veins, including endovenous ablation (EVLA), cyanoacrylate venous closure (superglue), radiofrequencey ablation (RFA), injection microsclerotherapy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy (UGS), ambulatory mini-phlebectomy, cutaneous laser, high ligation and stripping, compression therapy.

Many patients have different types of vein lesions in their legs and need integrated therapy.

AMBULATORY MINIPHLEBECTOMY

Ambulatory miniphlebectomy is mainly used for the branch varicosities. The tortuous subcutaneous varicosities are excised through tiny wounds. The wounds heal rapidly and most of them will not leave scar after several months.  The procedure is done under local anesthesia and the patient can walk immediately after it. Some patients may have slight bruises around the wounds after the procedure but they usually disappear spontaneously in weeks. Wearing compression stocking is recommended to reduce the postoperative bruises. Strenous exercise should be avoided for 1-2 weeks.
