Treatment Methods //

There are many treatment methods for varicose veins, including endovenous ablation (EVLA), cyanoacrylate venous closure (superglue), radiofrequencey ablation (RFA), injection microsclerotherapy, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy (UGS), ambulatory mini-phlebectomy, cutaneous laser, high ligation and stripping, compression therapy.

Many patients have different types of vein lesions in their legs and need integrated therapy.

ULTRASOUND-GUIDED SCLEROTHERAPY (UGS)

UGS can be used for branch varicosities, incompent perforating vein, refluxing vein of Giacomini, segmental reflux of great or small saphenous veins, residual reflux of the saphenous vein after EVLA or RFA.

Procedure: the target vein is punctured under sono-guide. The sclerosant is injected through the needle or catheter into the vein
